Inflammation is a response triggered by damage to living tissues often caused due to physical trauma or injury, Viruses give rise to the inflammatory response entering and destroying cells in the body as bacteria release substances endotoxins toxic substances bound to the bacterial cell walls that can initiate an immune reaction. Endotoxins are rarely fatal although they may cause fever.  The inflammatory response is the body’s defense mechanism that evolved in higher organisms to protect them from injuries and infections. Inflammation does not mean that there is an infection, but an infection may cause inflammation. Discomfort is usually temporary and usually disappears when the inflammatory response is complete. “The inflammatory response occurs when tissues are injured by bacteria, toxins, heat, or any other causes.  The damaged cells release chemicals including histamine, bradykinin, and prostaglandins.  These chemicals cause blood vessels to leak fluid into the tissue causing swelling.” says MedlinePlus. 

Indications of inflammation may appear within hours or days depending on the cause and in some cases become severe requiring medical attention. The development of inflammation in the body will depend on the cause factoring plans for treatment to reduce pain and swelling using natural or medication methods.  Acute inflammation onset may include injury, illness, bronchitis, appendicitis, sore throat, cold, flu, physical trauma, or wound that may require medical attention.
