The study was performed according to double-blind placebo, randomized, parallel group design.  Subjects both men and women range in age between 20-65 years of age and have a visceral fat area of  >90cm2 were enrolled in the study.

The test subjects were randomly selected to receive treatment for a twelve week period.  Subjects were given (1000 mg HCA) or placebo.  At the end of the treatment, both groups were administered a placebo for a four week period to assess any rebound effects.

Garcinia Cambogia had reduced the visceral abdominal fat accumulation type of obesity.  No rebound effects were observed in participants during the study.  Garcinia Cambogia is now being used in the prevention and treatment of obesity by preventing accumulation and reduction of visceral fat in the abdominal area.

Each subject underwent a computed tomography scan at the umbilical level at 2, 12, 16 weeks for a comparison test.

Results were Astounding

Clinical laboratory tests show a decrease in serum triacylglycerol values over a period of time but not significantly.  At 16 weeks the group had no serious side effects during the twelve-week study.  Participants significantly reduced total body fat, subcutaneous and visceral fat compared to the placebo group.
